Billie Eilish (born Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell in Los Angeles in 2001) is an American singer-songwriter working in alt-pop and electropop. She and her older brother, the producer and songwriter FINNEAS, wrote and recorded her early material at home in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, building a hushed, bass-heavy sound around close-miked vocals.
Her 2015 debut song, "ocean eyes," circulated online and led to a record deal while she was still a teenager. The 2019 album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? reached number one and made her a global figure, and she has since won multiple Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, and two Academy Awards for Best Original Song.
She remains an active recording and touring artist, and her home-recorded, sibling-produced approach has become one of the most influential templates in modern pop.

"ocean eyes"
Written and produced by FINNEAS, "ocean eyes" was posted online in 2015 and spread widely. Eilish, then a young teenager, signed with the Darkroom and Interscope labels.
