Larkin Poe is an American roots and blues-rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, led by sisters Rebecca Lovell (lead vocals and guitar) and Megan Lovell (lap steel and vocals). The band takes its name from a shared ancestor of the sisters and grew out of their earlier family group before settling into its current form around 2010.
Two things define the sound. First, the slide guitar: Megan's lap steel work is central to the band's tone, threading a bright, vocal slide through hard-driving blues and rock arrangements. The Lovell Sisters
Rebecca and Megan Lovell, with their older sister Jessica, performed as a bluegrass and acoustic trio called The Lovell Sisters, touring and recording before the group wound down late in the decade.
2010
Larkin Poe forms
Rebecca and Megan continued as a duo under the name Larkin Poe, drawn from a family ancestor. They released a series of EPs and began building a reputation as a live act.
2014
Kin
The band's debut full-length studio album, Kin, arrived in 2014, pairing the sisters' harmonies with a rootsy rock foundation and drawing wider attention through festival and support slots.
2017–2018
Peach and Venom & Faith
With Peach in 2017 and Venom & Faith in 2018, self-produced by the sisters, Larkin Poe leaned fully into slide-driven blues rock. Venom & Faith topped the Billboard blues chart.
2020
Self Made Man
The 2020 album Self Made Man pushed the band's rock side further, with bigger riffs and a heavier production, continuing their run atop the blues album chart.
2022
Blood Harmony
Blood Harmony in 2022 foregrounded the sisters' vocal blend, the "blood harmony" of the title, and won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
2025
Bloom
The band continued the run with Bloom in 2025, extending their catalog of self-produced blues-rock records while remaining a busy touring act.
